Default Have you been dueling with sabers?

I've been SRshaving for 8 months. Rarely do I nick myself, but since Sunday I've sliced myself not once but twice! Both times it was the start of the first stroke! The second one bit deep right under my sideburn. Couldn't stop the bleeding for 15 minutes. Neat little flap of skin that I don't imagine will reattach. Early in my experience, I cut a small circle of skin right off my chin. Since then I've had no real disasters until this week. A friend asked me this morning if I'd taken up dueling with sabers.

O well! Eight months of joy. Two days of pain. I can live with that.

    Thumbs up

To a point, women love dueling scars on their men. It adds mystery and character. Just don't overdo it. LOL

I started early and have a two-inch long permanent scar on my right cheek from when I did my first (unsupervised) shave at age four.

oh wow - so did you have to overcome a fear of razors when you picked them up again or did you go right back to your unsupervised shaves for more fun?
Find me on SRP's official chat in ##srp on Freenode. Link is at top of SRP's homepage

    Superglue is your friend.

(My scars are hardly visible unless the light shines at an angle - or something )

I was never afraid. It didn't really hurt but there was LOTS OF BLOOD so my parents were pretty upset. They locked the razor up so I didn't get to shave again for many years. Bummer! I would probably kept shaving everyday if they had let me. I thought shaving was great and now that I am using straight razors still think so.

    Talk about starting early!

I can't imagine that a few more scars on this ugly old face will matter much to the wife. No other woman matters.

I, too have managed to nick my cheek on the beginning of the stroke. Most recently, though, I took up shaving with a spike again after being without one for about a year and a half. Wouldn't you know, I dug that spike right into my cheek applying too much pressure to the middle of the blade. Doesn't help that I work as a Service Writer for BMW, so people were asking me all day who scratched me.

I hear spikes will do that. The main reason I don't own one.
Who was it that they might have supposed inflicted the scratch? Very interesting!
