Thanked: 6Got to eat crow.
I wrote a thread awhile back whining about a Wade and Butcher razor I bought and all the trouble I was having, (square point was cutting me, it seemed unwieldy, too heavy, wah wah). Well, here I am a few weeks later to dine on black bird in a big way. After fielding advice here in this forum, I let up on the pressure of my stroke and just plain slowed down with that old razor. I let the blade do the work through 3 passes and afterwards, took extra time to strop. All of you in this forum get credit for helping me out with face prep too. No more facial cuts or razor burn, Wow! Thanks everyone for helping me fall for that W&B and to get comfortable with straight razor shaves in general. Might even have to consider making that old girl beautiful again with one of you restorers out there!

Thanked: 3795You're not the first to make such a discovery. The great thing though is that you stuck it out long enough discover the error of your ways. Your reward is the sense of accomplishment you now have. Well, that, and a better shave!

And how will you have your crow, sir, sauteed, grilled, baked, deep-fried, or pan-fried? Bon Appetit'!

Thanks for the share.
Hard to say "I might not be using the best approach".
Invaluable that you stepped up. Reminds me at least, we all can be open to improvement.

Almost all of us have gone through the same thing, you just have to master the tool. No need to eat crow.

Well, I know squirrels are good eatin'. They are an oily meat. I like the gamey taste of deer, Deerhunter1995, which I'm sure you find agreeable. I think it's interesting that a scavenger can taste good. Was this a rural or urban crow? Probably rural Mr. Backwoods. That could be the difference. Seriously, those oily little creatures are very good food and underappreciated by the cattle (cattle in this case being people who only eat what's sold in supermarkets).
I did not like wild duck. Tasted like the algae-rich waters they inhabit. Too many minnows and aquatic plants. If I want to taste seafood I'll eat.. seafood!
Congratulations, gadwaymc. You're a better man for your efforts.
