I can do it easily, it's no big deal. You have to be slightly more careful about pressure, but otherwise little difference. We recommend it to beginners all the time. Now, is there a reason to do it? Probably not.

I always strop tomorrow's razor the night before, in front of the television, rather than in the morning immediately before the shave. Is that something you would not recommend?

I started doing the same thing a couple of months ago and found no difference in stropping the night before and stropping immediatly before I shave.
