Shave,dont talk!!!
SWMBO made me some shaving soap to try( no i dont know whats in it).
It lathered up really well and the razor glided easily enough and it smelled nice.
I was explaining this to her as I was shaving...........
Then just as I was under my nose still explaining.I slipped and cut myself right between the nostrils.
Got the bleeding to stop after 10 minutes or so.
I guess the lesson learned is, when your shaving , shave and dont talk.
On the bright side my missus informed me the soap is antiseptic, happy days.

Ouch! I've been there. Decided to reprimand a 5 year old for chasing his brother around the house with a nerd gun...and slice, needless to say it did not make me any happier, and my razor was happy to remind me that it was more important, so I feel your pain. Best of luck with the nick, maybe now would be a good time to try Lynn's advice about the triple healing lotion.

I have a nice scar that is slowly healing from when the Mrs came into the bathroom after a long trying day and wanted to 'talk' while I was shaving.
She saw the cut before I did, and promptly apologized and RAN!

Thanked: 3795Lesson learned!
If you had explained it to her, it probably would have been meaningless. Now that you have provided that educational demonstration, you will be able to shave in peace.

Same reason I don't shave if I'm in a hurry or if my kids are around. They like to watch me shave, though, so that doesn't help.

Yeah, family, kids, dogs, etc., can be dangerous when trying to concentrate on a shave. I get nervous when my wife comes my way when I'm in the middle of shaving.
There are many roads to sharp.

To avoid any more shave related injuries, I should probably shave when everyone is asleep... But I like sleep too... Tough decision

Thanked: 18NEVER get distracted when shaving with a straight razor. If a car crashes through your living-room window, finish the pass FIRST before you go and try and help anyone out of the wreckage.

I'd go ahead and complete all three passes and then worry about the accident. Shaving comes first. Everything else, including nuclear attacks, comes second.

My SWMBO knows not to bother me when I'm shaving now. Had a close call a while ago when I was trying to answer her and lost concentration -- no blood drawn but I sat there and waited a few seconds expecting it. After that I told her I'd be oblivious to the world when I'm shaving. I've also taken greater care to leave her alone when she's using kitchen knives.
