I always say a wedge is a full hollow with a silencer....anywho, lets not loose sight of the type of bead one has and the blade that complements it; in my case I have a thick wiry beard; a full hollow is not what the doctor ordered; but a wedge, a half hollow and heavy grinds will deliver close, irritation free, bbs shaves. get a full hollow...you can hear if you are doing it right and it is light and maneuverable. It has a very very very thin cutting edge and can slightly bend to your cheek/curves on a micro level. Wedge is heavy and harder to control and for thick whiskers.

Basically: Wedge= like letting gravity do the work. Full-hollow= like warm apple pie
