Go to your local mall and it should have a place like the Personal Edge. Over there you should be able to get a 10-pack for about $5.

I use a DE when I travel and found the 100-pack of blades made in Isreal to be reasonably Good. Roughly $10. look for them on ebay, seller dssokhey.

Joe is right about the Israeli Personna blades. I have 300 of them. Also, check ebay seller Howard1616 for Derby blades. One other option is Cotton Blossom Crafts for Feathers. Another good source for Feather blades is Pauldog at ShaveMyFace.

Depends on what you want -

Your local Wal-Mart carries Personna - 10 blades for about $1.50
    not a bad blade...my regular

    Ebay sellers -

    http://search.ebay.ca/_W0QQsassZtxukmanQQhtZ-1
    http://stores.ebay.ca/TexasCityBubba...QQftidZ2QQtZkm
    http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZhoward1616QQhtZ-1

These sellers offer Israeli Personnas and/or Derby's (Turkey)
Packs of a hundred run for under 25 including shipping with specials from
time to time. Lots of people on B&B and SMF forums love 'em..I have tried
the Derby's and it's a pretty good blade.

Feathers and Merkurs from this vendor who is running a 100 Feathers
    for 24.00 right now.

One of the members on B&B (LETTERK) has sampler packs...5 or 10 blades each
of Swedish (Euro) Gillettes, Merkur, Feather, Isreali, and Derby.

    Prices
Large (10 of each, 50 blades total): $23.50
Small (5 of each, 25 blades total): $13.75

I think Randy "MAY" be checking out some being sold by another B&B member
    (SSLSTUDIO) but am not sure....

    Good Luck.....

    Marcus,

You are correct. I am testing blades for SSLStudio (Rene). I'm not ready to put a full endorsement behind his blades. But I will give my opinion on the others mentioned.

Personna Blades (Wal Mart and other store branded blades): Wal Mart has the best deal on these. And they are decent. They were my first DE blades, and I still load one from time to time, but not often. Still, with my beard, good for a week of shaves, with the last one being a bit "aggressive".

Israeli Personna: I like this blade. Smooth from day one. Good for a week of shaves. And I never go over a week. Every Sunday, I change blades, regardless of the number of shaves.

Derby: Knotted with the IP blades for 1st place, IMO. Smooth and comfortable.

Merkur: After the first shave, this blade is fine. Until the 5th shave. Then it starts to tug.

Feather: Allegedly the Holy Grail of razor blades. VERY sharp. I don't get a comfortable shave with a Feather until shave 3.

Gillette Swedish Blades: #2 in my book. Smooth from day one, but more expensive than the IP or Derby blades. If not for the price, this might be #1. To my knowledge, only available from the UK.

One thing to remember. EVERY aspect of shaving is personal. What I like, you might not like. Blades are the same. The statement "YMMV" fits here as well. It all depends on your razor, technique and your beard. What I have stated here is my opinion, and it is correct. For me. As stated above, "your mileage may vary"!

my local CVS just started carrying a house brand of platinum DE blades, as well as some other brands. I have used the walmart brands as well. I dont use my DE anymore, but the wallmart brands shaved pretty well. My favorites are the Dorco and merkur platinum blades though. The dorcos are pretty cheap and always worked very well for me. Of course, I never used a blade more than once, so I dont know how long any of them last, but I could definitely tell the difference in the shave between the more expensive blades (although dorco's really arent expensive) and the walmart brand.

If your CVS blades are in the pack that dispenses from both sides alternately, then it's pretty certainly a rebranded American Personna blade. I've seen them in Wal-mart, CVS, Walgreens, and Kroger. I'm not certain that they're all the *same* American Personna blade, it's possible that they're carrying different versions. American Personna was my standard blade for a long time so I've got packs from all over, and I've run into packs that sucked hard. Had I stuck with it I was going to try and figure out if this was just random variation or if one of the stores was carrying a low-quality version.
