Default Straight Razors Saved My Marriage

OK, maybe that's a little over the top but its not a complete lie

I've been shaving with a straight for a few weeks now. I decided to give it a try after more than 35 years of rashes, getting razor burn and just plain hating to shave.

I've gotten to the point of being able to do a 2 pass shave. First pass WTG, second pass XTG.

This morning, my wife rubbed my face after my shave and said "that is the softest I've ever felt your skin and I am ecstatic that you're actually shaving every day. How about you do the same thing on the weekend and we'll have a date night?" This is after over 29 years of marriage.

Well, it just plain does not hurt anymore and my skin feels amazing.

You'll have to excuse me if I don't post anything over the weekend...I think I'll be busy

I hear ya. I wear Mach 3 blades out in a week, so I rarely shave. But now that I'm into Straight and DE razors, it's actually enjoyable to shave.

    Have fun on date night.

'Doesn't sound at all strange, Joe. The lovely bride had the same reaction. A year later, asked me to shave her legs (a pleasure), and kept saying afterwards: 'That's amazing'. There are many side benefits to a great shave Enjoy them all!

I was in the same boat. Shaving twice a week just because I had to. Hated shaving with a passion and would have to pre plan out what days I would shave for important things, scruffy the rest.

At first my wife gave me a hard time about the purchases and the extra time in the bathroom. But on multiple occasions she has let me know how much she likes the smooth face she now gets on most every single day.

Hey, if it gets my wife to hold close to me for a few seconds longer, it's well worth it.

Congrats and go, enjoy the weekend.

    Charlie
