Question best of two skin stretching methods?

    Hello all,

I still consider myself a beginner and would have questions about how to stretch the skin.

From my limited experience, I feel that there are (only) two ways to stretch your skin while you're shaving:
    1) use your other hand to "artificially" stretch the skin
    or
    2) make a face to "naturally" stretch the skin.

How do these two 'methods' compare?
Is one absolutely better, or more suitable for straight shaving, or less wrinkle maker...?
Can you shave using exclusively one method over the other? Or
are there parts of the face that an be done with only one?

What do you guys prefer/use the most?

    Thanks
    Christophe.

I use a combination of both. For most parts of my face I "make a face" to get my skin as tight as I can that way, and then use my off hand to stretch the skin a bit tighter.

I use both as well. Stretching with my off-hand for the cheeks, and puff them out slightly for XTG. Funny faces to navigate around my mouth and chin.

I stretch the skin with my fingers in front of the razor and also behind the razor. Dry and lather free fingers as well as face contortions get me my BBS shaves. good luck

Both are necessary. For the chin I use the normal stretching of face gestures. I shave upward pulling down the skin under the chin then stick my chin out. That moves the later line created by the hand stretch to just above chin line.
