Default found a great razor...need another recommendation

    Hey everyone,

So my Boker Edelweiss, finally got to the point where the barber's hone and stropping just wont cut it, so it will be sent out for sharpening. So, today i finally open my Joseph Allen and Sons 5/8 "Special Concave" for the first time. I love the weight of the razor, and i noticed with the first attempt on a WTG pass of the cheeks, that I have officially found my new favorite blade! Now, i know its not the fact that its a 5/8 blade, as i have had many of that type before. Not sure if its the manufacturer or Sheffield razors. The weight of this blade makes the passes, and shave so much more enjoyable. Any recommendations as to another raxor of this type? or what i am looking for? Thanks in advance,

    Josh

    Gotta get 'em all!

Owning an heirloom, that's my sentimental favorite; otherwise my new favorite razor almost always coincides with acquiring a new razor.

If you want to stay with vintage Sheffields, you might look at Geo. Wostenholm & Sons (Original Pipe Razor) or Wade and Butcher. Just check the wiki for some of the various models.

You might also enjoy German razors made in Solingen (Revisor, Boker, Dovo, dubl duck, Dorko, J. A. Henckels.)

    Happy Shaving.

I love my Bokers but there is just something about the sheffield steel that seems to give me awesome shaves every time.
