Default continue to use my razor?

So..my Kamisori razor has dulled..ok..next was my 6/8 Solingen razor..at this point I have to go about a dozen times on green .5 micron green paste just to get a shave from it...my question..put it back in my drawer next to my Kamisori and use my never used and recently hones 3rd razor?..then make a decision once this 3rd razor has dulled whether to send em all out for rehone or buy some stones?...as of now..my finances really dont fit buying razor hones..at least my desire to learn is still there

Use the 3rd razor and send the other two out now.

i agree get your first 2 honed so when the third one is dull or on the chance you ding it at least you have a backup.

It sounds like it's time to invest in a hone. Eventually your razor will stop responding to pastes and a trip to the stones will be required. My general rule is 3 paste touch ups to 1 hone touch up, which for me means that my razors don't see a hone for quite awhile. That doesn't mean you have to spend a bundle on a special hone; there's many options out there, just do a search and find something within your budget. And a hone like a Naniwa 12k doesn't cost that much when you compare it to sending out a couple razors at a time to a honemeister at $20 a pop (no offense at all intended to our forum professionals, just thinking over the long term).
