@ JeffR.... The right tool for the right job. Would you trim your nails with the same razor you wish to shave with?

Thanked: 1263To reitterate what others have already said...the TNT is for checking a bevel or if you want to dull your razor. Personally I dont even use it for checking a bevel set because after you do you have to go back to the hone to reset it.

What is all the fuss about the thumbnail test? I thought that the honemeisters at Dovo tested blades on a cow horn during the honing process: Making DOVO Straight Razors - YouTube

Everyone has their right to try what ever they want. I recommend you don't do it. Just like I recommend you don't look down a barrel of a weapon you are carrying. The choice is always yours. My razors edge's stay in fantastic shape.
