Thanked: 146It's kinda like batting order in baseball...You just start back at the top of the order.

Thanked: 22I just wish I knew what it is about some razors shaving so smoothly, while others just will not - though, they're equally sharp. One of the great mysteries of life I suppose.

Thanked: 3I've only got one razor so... But anyway, I see the point. Once I have a nice set (i.e. once I have money, and when will that be? I don't know) I will follow some kind of "intelligent rotation".

Thanked: 22My friend, I think you may regret it, having a rotation that is. I think you'll find, if you find a couple of two or three that shave well, rotate those few, you will prosper. I, for the life of me, don't know how anyone can have 30 or more razors in their rotation, and are able to recall which one needs stropping, honing, or whatever. I have trouble and I only have about a dozen or so (see, I don't even know for sure). Then again, I am 40 + years - I'm kind of on the down-hill side of life.

Thanked: 983I think the best rotation to have is the one that you perform when you go to shave the other side of your face. Otherwise, if you fail to rotate the razor, you'll end with a poor shave on the other side (Unless you have a DE C-T or perhaps prefer just a plain old DE).
cflaageriv (why the hell do people have to pick such hard to type user names for?! ), My personal method for my rotation is to touch up the razor prior to taking it out of the rotation for the next in line. That way when it comes around again, it is honed and stropped ready for first time use.

Thanked: 2I like the idea of having a 3-4 razor rotation and then a couple speciality razorz (i.e. the choppers for after a few days of not shaving, or the ATG only razor....etc.

Thanked: 22cflaageriv, well, I don't think it all that hard...it's my name..first initial c - middle initial f - last name laager and iv, I am the fourth of my name. My dad, he would be cflaageriii - get it? See, now that wasn't too hard, now as it. And, my friend, you must have a heck of a lot more time on your hands than I do if you're trying to remember which razor is next in the rotation. I, like Mr Farris above, have limited my use to maybe 3 or 4 - and when I use a razor, it's generally for about three or four day to a week, and then I'll switch to another. And like I mentioned earlier somewhere, I find that I tend to gravitate to razors that shave closely and seem to time and again leave me with absolutely no irritation and if they never pull, well then, all the more better. Because, it may just be me but, there's nothing like shaving and having an irritated face that used to make me not look forward to shaving at all. And, there's no better argument for straight razor shaving than that...just my opinion.
