Default First touchup...hope I did ok

So my 6/8 Dovo I got from SRD last month was pulling when I shaved with it the other day, so I decided to touch it up.

I have the pasted balsa, so I did 15 laps on the green (0.3) and then 15 laps on the red (0.1), then 30 on the poly web of my strop followe by 100 on the latigo leather, Hope it did ok...gonna find out in the morning when I shave

Best test is the shave test!

Unless the edge was really deteriorated it should be fine. Let us know how it goes.

It's much better, def not as good as when I first got it, but then again it had been honed by Lynn before I got it

I also touchup my blade for the first time, after 4 weeks of use. Used the SRD magnetic paddle with the .5 diamond spray.

Sprayed the felt strop twice with sprayer held around 4". One pass to the right and one pass to the left with only overlapping 2" in the middle.

Strop the blade 7 times on the diamond treated felt. Follow by 20 strop on the untreated felt, and 60 on the leather strop ( latigo from vintage blade LLC).

The shave was better than the other micarta dovo that I recently received from SRD (shave ready) and used for the first time a day ago.

The just touchup blade was pulling on the last two shaves, after a month of almost everyday use.

    I'll call it a success! Double O

Congrats guys. As you can see there are a variety of options and updating is pretty easy. It takes a bit of practice to get a good recipe and stick with it, to include honing at the appropriate time. Also you should resist the urge to chase the perfect edge, it'll lead to trouble. A good shaving edge will develop over a few shaves and clean leather stropping sessions.
