Thanked: 4My Rotation
Got my razor pictures uploaded tonight. Added them to my user gallery, thought I would post them once so everyone can see.
8/8 Henckels Friodur from Shavingshop.com, will be getting Gabon Ebony scales with invisble pins before X-mas.
6/8 Dubl Duck Goldedge. Great condition from ebay for $43.25 shipped. Shaves great!
5/8 Dubl Duck Wonderedge. Great condition cept for this little chip outta the tip. Only cost $70 shipped from ebay. Ronded off the sharp edge and it shaves great now! So its not a round tip, more of a half french half barbers notch?
Other razors that I am not shaving with are the 5/8 Dovo and my 6/8 W and B wedge, trying to get the smile better.

Great deal on the Goldedge. As for the Wonderedge, you may want to turn it into a shortened spike-point. You can do it by taking it to a belt-sander, sanding the tip down with a piece of sand-paper on a flat surface, while wathing tv, or if you're adventurous, use a grinder. (*)
(*) I'm not 100% sure about the grinder bit, check with someone who knows this stuff better than me.

Thanked: 4I thought about shortening it, but I think for now at least it works just fine. Would rather just have a little nip outta the blade than have to take more metal outta it. But who knows.

A couple of days ago I made a sweep of a couple of the local antique stores and picked up several razors most of which will be future restoration projects. I was hoping to find a Genco as the one I now have is one of my current favorites. I found one, a Henry X and I would have bought it but for one minor flaw. About a quarter of the blade was missing. A section from the toe to the midpoint and extending halfway to the spine was gone. Too bad as I've been on the lookout for Gencos as well as DublDucks (Yours both look really nice, I wax envious!).
