Default Does anyone else have this problem?

I have a problem that I think many here may share, after getting a bunch or razors, and a bunch stones, and a bunch of straps, and a bunch creams, and learning to hone, and strop, and which razors you like, and which razors you love, you realize you have all this great stuff but, and here's where the problem comes in. You only have one face. At least I do. And sometimes that can be a drag because after I finish shaving. I'm not really finished playing. Anyone else have this problem?

I know what your saying. Start restoring, then you can play with razors all night.

+1 on the above - I've seen the sun come up a few times while sanding away!

Yup, me too! However I'm kinda cursed. My beard grows fast and stiff, and I am lucky enough to have pretty tough skin.

Before straight razor shaving I prickled up about 3:00 pm. Now I'm BBS until about 2:00 pm, and can make it until about 6:00 pm before my face feels like 150 grit.

I normally straight razor shave, and won a DE razor in December on another site.

Now as long as I have enough leisure time, I find that 2 or 3 days a week I am shaving twice a day. Once with the straight razor and then time permitting I shave in the evening with my DE.

This new found play time now has me searching for vintage DEs to try out.

If I calculate correctly, I can add 2 or 3 DEs to my collection before SWMBO finds out and limits me again.

Just kidding she likes the BBS face. Let me put it this way, she thinks it's an expensive past time, but does not ask me why I need over 30 vintage straight razors one DE and a large assortment of creams, lotions and colognes. She just rubs my face and enjoys the smell.

May your lather be moist and slick, the sweep of your razor sure, and your edge always keen!

My girlfriend points out that exact issue every time I buy another razor. I only have one face...Too funny!

Well I guess I'm not the only one with this problem, but it is a drag isn't it? Once you razors are in good shape and your clean shaved there's really not a lot left to do, that is, except go on eBay and look for more, which just continues the cycle. It's too funny. We all got into this for the same reason. And once you get the hang of it. You have less playtime, except maybe for Kindestcutofall, dang sounds like you are part werewolf, after a good shave. I can go about 24 hours, I could shave but I like the good stubble.
    Thanks all.

Griz, you could master the technique by the honorable Lawsonstone of shaving twice/day. (I did today to test an edge).

You needn't suffer from mental illness - you can enjoy every minute of it!
