    Default New razor, fantastic shave!

I just recently purchased this razor and had my first shave with it tonight. What a difference in smoothness it was from my last razor! I had purchased the site unseen deal from Larry and ended up with a larkin blade. I finally decided I was going to stick with straight razor shaving and bought the one previously mentioned. It was so smooth and cut like the Larkin blade never did. I even switched to my old blade halfway through to make sure I wasn't crazy =). I know my technique has improved and the new razor was shave ready, but what a difference.

Anyway just wanted to share my joy! All my friends and family think its stupid I'm now shaving with a straight razor.

Right on, you can't go wrong with a Henckels!

I have a feeling that you dulled the razor you bought from Larry. He wouldn't sell you a crap razor, and his honing skills have a good reputation. Send it back to him to be rehoned and I'm sure you'll be pleased with it again.

Glad you had such a good experience.

Larry's a good guy and a good honer, have him hone up that Larkin for you again and I'd wager you'll find a new respect for the old beast. Then you'll have two razors you'll enjoy playing with and your family can think you're TWICE as nuts!

Most of my family's been supportive, some of them think I'm nuts. A few guys I work with who've found out think I'm bat guano crazy. It's all part of the joy of straights!

    Peace,
    Jim
