My skin feels fine, maybe a slight tingle of exfoliation, but no irritation. I don't know why, it just flows. It's funny how my shave evolved from learning to be perfect, to getting a perfect shave, to hurry up and hack it off.

Then if it works for you it's the right way to shave. How long you been straight shaving for, despite the post count, you def don't look like a newb

I would guess September of 2009. I found with this forum, everything you need to know is just a search away. I don't typically socialize in forums, hence the post count.

3 things that I found interesting:

--looks like you're using about a 45 degree angle.

--No stretching for a good bit of the shave.

--And no passes with the left hand.

    1) I don't really pay attention to the angle, only how it cuts. She could use a honing, and my beard wasn't very soft.
    2) I typically stretch a little more than that but not a whole lot on a quick shave. I didn't think anyone would want to watch my hand stretch with the blade hidden.
    3) I would hack my face to death with my left hand. That is part of the reason I didn't stretch a lot, I would have crossed my hands in front of the camera.

You can see a few places I kinda got mixed up with stroke vs. stretch hand vs. camera. It is harder than I thought.

Honestly, I just wanted to see how many people would waste 4 minutes and forty one seconds of their lives watching some dude shave.

(.....Time is money, and I don't get paid to shave.....)

That really says it all. The divide between those on this forum who do this because it's a past-time and those who do it just for the function of the shave period meet head on here.

If I was in a hurry or just wanted to "shave" I'd use a DE but that is the camp I'm in.

I guess it quit being a past-time when I realized all these hones, strops and pastes are really unnecessary. Once I was happy with my skills with one hone and strop, I didn't have to search for the next do-dad to get a perfect shave. I guess that took the fun out of it, and it became work. The reason I started with a straight, was to not give my money away for anything disposable.
