Thread: My Straight Always Beats My Double E

Well gentlemen, I tried the feather blades in my Gillette Fat Boy Saturday night. I must admit I got the best shave yet using the feathers in the DE. I had to work at it slightly longer. I still think I can get BB smooth results faster with a really sharp straight. I'll definitely be using the Feathers in the future with the DE. Even so I just like the extra time and care I find I need to take when using the straight. Straight or DE, wet shaving definitely affords a level of pleasure during the shave that I just didn't get with any other form of shaving I previously practice. Good shaving gentlemen.

I'm glad you tried the Feather blades.

I agree with you completely -- if you want a "pleasurable experience", requiring full concentration (a "sensate focus" exercise!), the straight razor is the way to go.

PS -- I'm going to try "one side straight, one side DE" this week, just to see what my own results are.

Yeah I got decent shaves with my DE but i broke down and bought me some feather blades and yeah the shave was super. That is all i use on my DE's now
