Second anniversary
Two years ago today, I started learning how to shave with a straight razor, and I love it. Thanks to all who have encouraged me and other new converts, and who have been so generous with helpful advice, tips, and humor. Shave on!

Thanked: 1195Congrats! I remember when you came on the scene, just a young pup lost in the woods lol. Seriously though, I'm sure many of us would have quit in frustration if it weren't for the great community here at SRP. I count myself as one of them.
Take care my friend.

I don't think I would have even dared to take it up at all if it weren't for SRP. It was just a fluke that I found out about this great forum at all--I had no idea that anybody still shaved with straights! And I think somehow I've been amazingly fortunate in another way: I've somehow managed to avoid most of the hard-core frustrations that I've read about so many of our compatriots struggling with. Just lucky, I guess--in that I found this place and read for about month before taking that first shaky shave--and getting that first REAL shaving cut!

I'm in that same approximate graduating class, although I don't remember the specific date. I rationalized that I would save money due to the crazy cost of cartridge shaving. Now, thousands of dollars later.....
The help received here has been incredible and I learn every time I log on. What was once drudgery has become my favorite time of the day.
