Thanked: 433Canned Barbasol
Just for fun I tried a straight shave with the Barbasol in the green can. I've tried every other soap/cream/brush combination.
It wasn't bad at all, no noticeable irritation or cuts, it wasn't as close as possible but still bbs!! I probably won't do this very much as I like using a brush but it did actually quite well

Barbasol is made in Ohio, stuff lasts forever. Must be all that gas they pump in it....

Before the early '70s when I discovered the brush & puck Barbasol was my favorite canned goo. It was cheaper than Gillette or others and I liked the consistency better than other canned goo...... but it is still canned goo just the same.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Canned Barbasol
Ladies and gentlemen:
Traditional shaving, if I know the definition, requires two important elements, among others: soap (cream) and brush. The evil that lurks in the can of shaving goo somehow distorts the picture. Besides, the ritual of marrying soap (cream) to the brush is much like the love affair between the straight razor and the strop. Some things are sacred. I'm afraid canned goo is not one of them.
Or something like that.
Regards,
Obie

Thanked: 1185This is my prime use for canned Barbasol. A couple times a year I give it a go just for fun. While I'll admit that it's the best canned goo on the market, for a steady diet I'd rather stick with my soaps and brush. Best canned goo on the market, huh? Isn't that rather like being the hottest chick at the side show?
