    Default Another step ahead

I have been shaving off an 8000 Naniwa followed by a balsa strop pasted with crox and been happy with the shaves. Yesterday I got a Naniwa 12000, flattened it and tuned up a razor on it. I gave that razor it's normal stropping this morning and proceeded to get the smoothest and closest shave yet in 5 months of shaving. A definite step ahead especially ATG. I can see why people wind up with numerous hones chasing the ultimate edge. It just keeps getting better.

    Bob,

As one of the few members here who didn't contract HAD (money being the determining factor ) I have tried edges finished with many types of stones can say with certainty that the Naniwa 12k produces a fine shaving edge comparable with the best. JMHO of course, but I would be happy if it was my only finisher if stuck on a desert island

It will only stop if when, IF POSSIBLE, you reach your own personal "ultimate edge."
