I recently started using a few drops of grape seed oil in my ueberlather (along with MWF and KMF) instead of the usual glycerin. I noticed the lather got much thicker and stiffer, faster to create, but did not last as long on my face as with glycerin. Still, I like it better this way.

How did the Olive Oil go? I'm thinking I'll try this on my next round. I have some Avocado oil that I might try..

I find that the glycerin makes the lather nice and thick, the olive oil gives it an added slickness! I've heard that the olive oil is GREAT for your skin too!

Thanks for the tip, I just did a round with 2 drops of avocado oil mixed in. The lather definitely seemed to build up stiffer and was definitely a lot slicker which I was really impressed with. I used MWF as the base soap as well.

I think now its time to get an eye dropper of oil in the kit now as this is definitely going to be a standard part of the ritual

I will have to give grapeseed oil a try.
Next time cut back on the Castor oil and add 25% grapeseed oil. Makes for a nice pre-shave.

I use 50% Olive Oil, 25% Castor oil and 25% Grapeseed oil, works well for me as a pre shave.
