Wet electric shaving
I have been straight shaving for a Iittle more than a month and usualy fix some missed spots around the mouth and under the chin with my phillips arcitec. My technique is improving daily.Today, i had a 2days beard and i tried a complete electric shave with the same preparation as when i use my sr. I surprisingly got a great bbs shave in 5 minutes. The razor was sliding so smoothly. Its not as satisfying as using a sr but it for the job done. Am i crazy?

Seriously? I used an electric for many years and never could come remotely close to a BBS with it (the biggest reason I went to a DE). I mean the fact that there is a screen prevents that possibility right?

Holly Cow! I did a search of electric shavers as I didn't think you could use them in a moist environment! Man electric razors have seemingly come a long way... not that i'll ever give them a try again. Tons of cash trying to find one that worked for me over the years has left me bitter lol.
But yeah - you can use them in the shower and some even dispense moisturizer - who knew??

You are not crazy by any means, the new electrics have gotten very good. But like you said, using one isn't very satisfying. But on those days you are running late it could save you a lot of time.

Thanked: 247I wet shave with this electric razor at least once a week with amazing results!
Here is a photo of it before I honed it (was my grandpa's razor).
Whatever works for you! I only could afford to try a few electric razors in my life...and none of them worked well for me except this cleverly named straight razor. I won't hate on anyone for finding success

I could see them working ok for those with a soft beard, or thin, but my wiry stubble just dulled the blades, and couldn't go over an area enough to even get a clean shaved "look", much less feel. I say kudos to you for achieving something most of us here never did.
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

I had a Panasonic wet-dry years ago and found though it shaved close with water or shave cream (not straight close) I got massive irritation with it in wet mode.

Whatever works for you is the important thing. Having said that, i could never get as close a shave with any electric as i can with my DEs; going to start experimenting with my straights, again.
Good luck to you with whatever you use.
