Just wipe everything dry with a towel and store some place dry.

So if the edge is realigning itself, it is not doing it as well as with the help of a strop.

I've noticed pretty much the same thing. And I haven't heard that stropping after a shave is a no-no either. I just dry the blade well, strop it 15 poly-webbing/15 leather, rub it with a cloth thats pretty well saturated with camelia oil and put it away. And I have to agree with Jimbo, a razor that is correctly stropped on a routine basis seems to keep a keen edge much longer. But, thats my humble opinion.

probably the context being: don't strop until you've cleaned and dried the blade?

Thanx again guys! What is Camelia Oil? Where would I find it? BTW, Castel33, I like your Avatar! For giggles I bought a tube bar (or is it bar tube?) of the Arco Shaving Soap from Turkey. Is there a certain way to use it or do you just rub the end of the tube on yer face? Perplexed-Gearhead222

Camelia oil is basically mineral oil. It is the same oil used on Samurai swords to keep them from pitting/tarnishing, etc. It's been used on straight razors for quite a while because its light, clear, and all natural. Many razor vendors sell it on their websites. Just as an example, I bought mine from Straight Razor Designs when I visited their store in Medina, OH. Comes in a little squeeze bottle, and a drop or two is all you need to protect a razor, a little goes a long way. Some people put a drop on the blade and smear it with their thumb and forefinger, others put some on a cloth and simply wipe the blade from heel to toe (which is what I do). Hope this helps a bit--Merry Christmas!---Nick

With arko there are a few ways people use it.

The first is to use it in the shave stick form it comes in. Which then you do wet the end of the shave stick and your face then rub the shave stick all over till you have enough soap on your face. Then you face lather.

The second way people use arko is to push it into a mug or bowel and then use it like shave puck.
