Default I did the math -- I told her it would save me money!

My wonderful wife let me order my "stocking stuffer" this morning, a NOS c.a. 1840 8/8 W&B. I thanked her for the gift, and she said, "remember how you said that this straight razor thing was going to save us money?"

Well, I did the math. Figuring an average of two disposable razors a month (a VERY conservative number) at $5 dollars each (I did not consider inflation), my current age, a life expectancy of 100 (I plan to continue shaving for a long time), and the "average" price of my razors (ok, so maybe that was a little low) I was able to come up with my "break even point." I told her, "see, I did the math, I am saving money! Every shave after my 80th birthday will be money in the bank."

She just looked at me and said, "I LOVE YOU!"

I'm married to the best woman in the world.

Just don't let her know how much your eventual acquisitions disorders will cost you. These strange afflictions affect people differently, but rest assured you will contract some form of RAD, BAD, HAD,and or SAD(this could be soap/cream or strop). You may want to see about getting a P.O. box for deliveries of the various items that will help you save money.

After you stopping adding on to your rotation of razors, brushes, soaps, etc. you may have to add a few "0"'s on to that 80!!

Ah - as you stated, you didn't calculate for inflation, but then you didn't figure for time-value-of-money, or any kind of opportunity costs either!!! It's all good!

When you get to "needing" your next razor, stone, or whatever it is you want (has to be shaving related or I'll charge lol), and you need to sell it to SWMBO, let me know! I'll make it considering the threshold is 80, that we make it all pay off by 79 next time !!

Good luck! And congratulations on getting yourself a "good one!" (the wife)
