No go! Didn't improve the blades sharpness. Actually decreased it by quite a bit.

Reporting back as promised.

Did my usual prep then stropped around 100 laps holding the spine around an 1/8th off the strop, felt strange for a bit but not too bad. took my time and concentrated on keeping that 1/8 gap consistent. Don't see how I could do it any better without some sort of guide attached to the spine. Could have used 6 layers of tape but I would not want to go through that every time. Could some how tell by the sound when the angle was right so will go by that if I stick with this method.
Razor was my custom which has around 1/4 hollow so quite a hefty blade.
The shave went superb but the last half a dozen shaves with this razor all have so that's not much help. I would say the edge was definitely not worse and was at least equal or maybe slightly better using this method.
Will report back again after a few more shaves if anyone is interested ?
