i had no idea what shave ready was...until now!
Hi, i bought my first sr a dovo BQ in september, it did not cut well ( i got it from centre du rasoir, factory honed) i got a stone (4/8) and try to hone it myself, but it did not cut like i wanted it to cut. I always had to finish with electric or de. Even after 4 passes.
For christmas my wife got me a hart 7/8 square point cocobolo from the classicedge canadian store. I shaved with it this morning. Wow, after one pass i was almost done. I love the weight and handling of the razor. I made 3 passes and i never had my face that smooth in my life! Im glad i practiced with the 5/8 dovo to get the technique without cutting myself too much, because the big hart is a little bit intimidating at first. But i love the hart and im sending the dovo to be honed as fast as possible as a backup razor. So now i know what shave ready really means.

Thanked: 3226That is good to hear that you had a very good experience with that Hart and I think you are doing the right thing to send out that Dove for honing and back up.

I'm about to get a hart. So it actually comes "shave ready"? Like not factory shave ready but shaveable Shave ready?
