    Default Using a DE

    Is it cheating to use a de to clean up after doing a 3 pass shave with a straight razor? I just got the best shave of my life but felt like I cheated. Any thoughts?

    IMHO: You can't cheat if you're wet-shaving. Enjoy. Many use both straights and DE's. It's not, as I see it, a one or the other thing. It's a wet-shaving thing.

    You should use what works for you. If your straight shaves get good enough to satisfy you, great. Until then use your DE. Besides, shaving with a DE is also fun and yields great shaves. I like to mix it up now and then for variety.

    I tell you they're so easy to use and you get BBS so easily! They're great after 3 pass on a straight razor to clean up and get the hard spots that cant easily be reached with a straight.

    Seems like there would have to rules in the first place for it to be cheating, and as far as I'm aware, there aren't. Just opinions.
