Thanked: 270Can you get so used to one razor that you can't shave with another?
For the last several months I've shaved exclusively with 5/8 razors. Twice in the last week I tried to use the larger blades that were once my favorites. They were definitely shave ready. The shaves were so unsatisfactory that I had to pull out a 5/8 and finish the shave.
I know I can get the skill back through practice.
Kind of surprised me because until fairly recently I found the larger blades easier to use because they did more of the work. If necessary I would grab one of those to finish up a shave with a 5/8 for touch-up.
It kind of surprised me.

I don't have any blades less than 8/8, but I switch razors as much as I can.

Thanked: 247I guess so. I seldom use the same razor more than 3 days in a row though. Some would say that after enough time shaving that you will be able to pick up any razor and use it with no problem. But I kind of liken in to driving an Escort for a month, then jumping into a lifted four wheel drive. Things are different...You can adjust..but it won't be immediate.

A man's reach should exceed his grasp; or what's a heaven for.
The next razor will be that 1pass BBS one!

Thanked: 1195The principles are the same regardless of the type of razor, so it's just a matter of adjusting your technique during the shave - it comes back to you right away. So no, I don't think it gets to the point when you simply CAN'T use another razor anymore.
