Thanked: 0Shaving the back of my boyfriends neck
Hello all,I am new to this forum and sort of new to straight shaving. My name is Michelle Timber. I am 26 years old. I have been shaving my legs with a straight razor for about 3 months now. My boyfriend convinced me to do it one day, and I have been hooked since.
My boyfriend is wanting me to shave the back of his neck. Are there any tips someone can give me to make sure I do not slice him to pieces? Is it similar to/different from shaving other areas? The hair on the back of his neck is a little long. Will this make much of a problem?
Are there any ladies out there who do this for their men? Would love to get your opinion.
Thanks in advance.

Thanked: 1Welcome to the SRP timbergirl!
Since you are shaving your own legs with a straight razor, it should be no problem to shave your boyfriends back. I guess it should be quite easy to shave his back, because you will have a nice flat and non concave area to shave. The straight razor is just perfect for longer hair! Make sure that he finds a comfortable position. Work your way down from the top to the bottom, so you´ll always have a soap free part to stretch the skin.
I hope this helps you a litte bit.

Thanked: 1587Hello Michelle and welcome to SRP!
Although I am not a woman I have some experience with using a straight on the head area and the back of the neck, both on myself and on others.
Shaving someone else is not too different to shaving yourself, except you don't have that immediate feedback you get from the feel. So I'd suggest you take it slowly and use a light touch. The angle is the same as you would use on your legs. I'd also suggest short strokes from the wrist if that is possible as that gives you more control. Also make sure you stretch the area with your other hand, or get your partner to move his head into positions that make the skin taut, or both.
I am sure you will do a good job. The worst that can happen is a little nick perhaps, but we've all done that and it is not the end of the world. But it sounds like you will be very vigilant, so it is quite unlikely. I am sure after the first couple of strokes you will relax into it.
Good luck!

I shave the back of my neck and I find it the easiest part to shave. I just lean my head forward and shave away. I have never cut myself either.
From their stillness came their non-action...Doing-nothing was accompanied by the feeling of satisfaction, anxieties and troubles find no place
