Default Smooth shave with dovo shavette couple??

Well just got through with my first shave with a straight albeit a shavette. I think it's the smoothest shave I've ever had. I used the merkur blade that came with it. I got some pretty good burn right on th outside of my goatee as it hits the corner of my jawline any tips there? Other than that a couple of little weepers and my wife thinks I'm crazy that's all. I see some more $$$ coming out of the wallet pretty soon for a traditional straight. I bet I looked pretty funny trying to figure out how to hold that shavette for different beard parts.

Just a guess, but did you shave from the goatee out and use a high angle while sculpting the edges, but continued on with that angle for a little ways? A high angle will sure give some burn. Shave inward with a lower angle and if you have to sculpt with an increased angle coming out, keep it short.

Forgot this: You're going to love a real straight when you try it. If you got through a shavette session with just a few weepers and a good shave, you did great!! Keep having fun!!
