No problems I'll try to get something up soon, I'll be getting married at the end of the year and I'm on the lookout for a showpiece razor that would look fantastic in the photos.

Chreees, can you post a link to that video on barber hone touch ups. I've watched so many videos it's hard to keep them all straight. Thanks

That's awesome man! I hope you find just what you are looking for. As for getting married, CONGRATS! I got married last June and it was the best thing I've ever done in my life. I wish you and your fiancee the best.

    Here it is:

    gssixgun Barber Hone.wmv - YouTube

I followed it exactly, 10 x-strokes, but with just water. Worked like a charm. Huge props to Glen for this video!!!

Thanks Chreees, for any other new starters I found a few tips that helped me out.
#1 lather lasts longer for me when I turn off the bathroom exhaust fan.
#2 cleaning the razor off after each movement. I found the lather got sticky and affected the smoothness of each movement, so when there is too much lather on the blade I would wipe it off on a wet towel, rinse under hot water then a quick strop on a dry towel to dry it off and clean everything off it, then on to the next movement.

Nothing new I'm sure, but really helped in my first few shaves.

Word, those are good tips. I also make sure to clean off the blade after a few strokes. Basically, I don't ever leave behind bits of lather where I just shaved. Works for me.

Finally got some good pics of my collection:

Wade and Butcher "The Celebrated" Extra Hollow Ground:

And with its case I paired it with (I originally paired it with the other case, but the Henckels fits better in it):

    J.A. Henckels Twin Works 85:

And with its case I paired it with:

    Dovo Black Star:

    Case it came with:

And all of my goodies altogether:

I gotta say the Wade and Butcher, hands down. Love it now that I dialed in the proper sharpness since getting it honed.

That is a nice scuttle! I gotta pick me up one of those someday... Right now I'm just using a Best Western mug from my work, lol. Your razor looks awesome as well. I hope to own a white scales one sometime in the future.
