Default Healthier skin with SR shaving

I have been shaving for less than 6 monhs with a SR, so I am relatively new on this. I started wet shaving with a DE razor like 2 years ago. I am 34 years old. I sepnt a lot of money in disposables since I was 16 or so, and a lot of money because I always liked those expensive gillette disposables. So after all this time I am able to compare and I can say that at least for me, since I started shaving with a SR my skin has become much more healthy. Really, some people tell me I look younger. One of my co workers asked me what kind of cream I was putting on my face. And I have seen myself the differece everytime I look at the mirror. Not even a DE razor gave me this results on my skin. I never tought I was going to enjoy this so much. I love the way my face looks, I love my razors. It is definitely one of those simple and good things of life. Looks like wet shaving review. but it is true. I never thought I was going to have so much affection for a simple article like a straight razor, a brush and a good shaving soap

That was my experience also. Well, there is a tiny scare left over from my negligence

Not sure why my skin looks better from running steel over it, but if it didn't I can tell you my wife would not give up the counter spacer in the bathroom! She even gave up space for my new scuttle! Happy wife = happy me

Congrats ledemon I am glad to hear you have found joy in this. I have a neighbor whom I got started SR shaving. He had the your-neck-is-gross syndrome and his wife was always complaining. I give him a lesson. A brush. Some soap and a hand-me-down dovo. He has no ingrown hairs on his neck and he looks a lot younger. His wife thanks me all the time. I know how you feel, because my neighbor feels the same way. Good luck buddy

I was hoping that SR shaving would make me look younger, but so far it's not working out. Of course, at my age, if I can still see my reflection in the mirror I'm happy.

Glad to hear its working out for you. My situation is similar to yours, I used to use cartridges but had ingrowns, irritation and an unsatisfactory shave. I used to hate shaving. Now I look forward to it. We got to do it just about every day so might as well find a better way. I used a shavete for 6 yrs then de for 1 now use straight since October. Love it and am not looking back.

It is truly amazing isn't it? Glad things are working out for you, I also have been having a great experience. Fell out of the top of a grainary drunk when I was 15 (don't ask) and ran a piece of steel all the way through my face just below my bottom lip and had the resulting 'beauty' mark...since straight shaving these last few years the scar is almost gone. I didn't notice until my oldest son and my daughter in law commented on it. "Didn't you have a scar???" That was sure an ego boost...

    2. Creme da barba
    3. Glycerin
    These for lather
    4. Pre-shave
    5. Balm
    6. After shave lotion

While this is true the using a straight razor is a big part of looking younger and a scar slowly going away. As it is a great exfoliate and promoter of collagen production for the skin. Which makes you face look healthier and younger.

A couple years back someone posted an article about how Asian women for years used straight shaving as there beauty secret for those reasons.
