I think honest u may have rolled the edge stropping.. almost same thing happened to me when i started .. I had it rehoned and the next shave was 100 pct better.. I live in NY not too far from the gwb I would b more than happy to help u out with what I know.. it may help.. mvacrash nj guy wealth of knowledge and guy who taught me in person the basics was magpie

I agree. It sounds like you rolled the edge when you were stropping, very easy to do when you're learning. I would recommend having you razor honed again and then go ahead and shave without stropping when you get your razor back so that you know what the razor should feel like.

Sounds like it was not honed well. Even if you have a sharp razor, DO NOT TRY TO SHAVE YOUR ENTIRE FACE ON THE FIRST TRY!!!! Read the thread on here called "your first shave". If you follow the progression in that thread, you should reach your shave ideal, with much less stress and pain. Good luck.
