Thread: Anyone else shave with just one hand?

When I first started wet shaving, I tried to use both hands, but found that do to an old elbow injury, I found that after a few minutes, my fingers would become numb. At first, I just continued shaving until one time on a business trip I gave myself a nice 2 1/2 inch gash on my cheek. After the gash healed, I set out to figure out how to shave with only my right hand. I'm proud to say that as of today I have over 300 one-handed shaves. It may take me a few minutes longer, but for the most part these are nick free and BBS.

I'm with you! I just never was comfortable with my left hand. I have shaved with only a straight in my right hand since the first day I tried it!

I guess I am lucky. I can cut my face with both hands. :<0)

But really , what ever works best I would say.

If you mean by that shave with the razor in the dominant hand, and stretch with the opposite hand, I'm right there with you. If you mean shave without using the opposite hand to stretch, no, that wouldn't work for me at all.

I shave with the left hand but like jimmy do some stretching with the other hand.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I hold the razor only with my right and stretch with my left..

Yep. Shave with my right, stretch with my left. I do use all four grips on the razor, and I find that it gives me all the flexibility I need.
