Can I throw something out there, that may create a discussion. Have you tried a shaving oil or Prorasso Pre-shave cream? When I first started, I skipped this pre-shave prep and I got razor burn, but not as bad with my Mach 3. Since then, I am mostly burn free.
The other thing might be an allergy. I have an allergy to lanolin, which is present in MWF and a few others.

Thanked: 1195If you're getting burn the problem is too much pressure; if you're getting bumps you're shaving ATG and cutting hairs under skin level. The simple answer is to lay off the pressure and to eliminate ATG in problem areas, respectively
What stands out for me is the fact the you had a great shave and then it got worse after shaving daily. This tells me that you might not be able to handle daily shaving, which isn't uncommon at all. In fact I fall into that category as well, despite having a fast growing beard. Once your skin heals try shaving every other day and see if it helps. I'm thinking it might.
One question: were you able to shave daily with your previous type of razor?

Thanked: 177My neck was always trouble. Flat sideways from left to right ear. I shave the jawline up completely. Dry the upper face then lather the neck. I use the dry upper face to stretch the stubble up so you can get to it. Practice the stretch before to see which way lifts it the most. If you lift it enough you could get a good shave going xtg. And that might be enough for you. I've gotten to where I do 2 atg on the neck. Wtg and xtg still left me with a lot of stubble. So I don't bother with the on the neck. You will know what you can or cannot do. I'm not suggesting you hurt yourself. It works for me. I also use a pre shave on the neck.

I have the same issues.. I just stopped going against the grain. Now it feels fine and my shave is still smooth... Nothing states you HAVE to go ATG.. Try it .. Cheers

Thanked: 227For what it's worth, my early experiences of daily shaving were brutal. Burn and bumps galore. It took time to get used to the pressure. That got rid of the burns, then I dropped the ATG and after some time I added it back in now and then. As time has passed I have become more experienced and my face has gotten used to it. Now if needs be I can shave every day and if needed can go ATG to a BBS. What I'm saying is, fore it just took time for it all to fall into place.
