    Default My neck is hurting

I am achieving wonderful shaves thanks to trying new angles of attack and judicious amounts of skin stretching. A trade off has been developing a new pain in the muscles in the back of my neck. Is this something common? Does that get better with time?

Sounds like your stretching neck muscles you never use much. Various small things will give me neck pain for a few days. I am no expert but if you get somebody to massage it and it feels better quick then I would say that's all it is. Think about it. have you ever had your neck twisted and bent so you could see what your doing with all that hand action going on ? Maybe stretch your neck a little before your shave ? roll your head around slowly and in both directions to loosen things up a bit. It's all I can think of. Or it's a tumor!

Like 10pups said, do some joint rotation movements with your neck prior to shaving. I would also include the shoulders in the warmup. Before I workout, I rotate my arms, one at a time in a windmill fashion, 10 times in both directions. Then with a shrugging motion move my shoulders in a circular fashion, arms hanging straight down, 10 times both forward and backward. Then to prepare my neck, look up then down 10 times. Then side to side 10 times. That is all. If you're de-conditioned, this warmup may make you sore, but it will help prevent injury. I do this before doing wrestlers bridges, so I know it is a great way to prepare the upper body. Good luck.

I can't imagine movements causing neck problems. You might have some heavy duty neck issue you are not aware of and the movements you are doing are setting it off. if it doesn't go away by itself I would see an M.D.

I have really serious neck issues and movements during shaving don't seem to make it worse.
