Can you post a link to where you got it? Is it new or antique? If it's a brand new razor I think you might have gotten a lemon.

This is the website. I've taken a look at these razors and they look good but at only about twenty dollars I doubt they're worth it. But, Hey! At least it'll make a good practice razor and the scales can be used as replacements.

The owner of the website is a good guy. I think he's a pilot. Anyway, he usually has some nice vintage blades and carries alot of products like classic soaps and aftershaves. He is fast when it comes to getting out orders and will give good advice if asked. That said, I'd probably stay away from his Young razors as I'm pretty sure they won't hold an edge. I believe they are Pakistani. They are great utility knifes and awesome at cutting insultation though, but for $20, you can probably find something cheaper. Keep the case, they are nice and other razors will easily fit into them!

My first razor was from Young Razor Co. I still shudder to think of it...

They are bad, bad, bad. The tang says they're made in Chicago, but I do think the steel is Pakistani...

    Avoid these razors.

    Default Young razors

    Quote from website!
"As of*now, 1/17/07, I will*NOT be selling Young straight razors any longer.*The cost to make them is too high and I have decided*to sell only German made straight razors, shaving supplies, general merchandise, etc. Thank you for all your purchases over the past several years!"

    Wont be any more then!

Yea... What Josh said. They are total junk. I got one on whim several months back. I didnt need any special optics to see how bad the edge was. When I tried to hone it on the 4000 side of my Norton it just chipped away in pieces. The 8000 side did not do any better. Avoid these like the plague...
