Default My first attempt at being a barber

So I have watched quite a few videos on sr shaving including barbers showing how they shave clients. I ran into an old buddy when i happened to be replacing my vdh cake and getting some shave secret to give a try (halfway decent stuff really) and we got to talking about sr shaving. He said he would like to see what it felt like so he came over and I got to work.

I've got to say it went better than expected. I used my Mastershake Silvertip with a Bald frog Arabian Spice, Cl Bigelow, glycerin Uberlather, my redneck Scuttle (courtesy of Lowes) and Godzilla (my green lizard square tip straight)

I had him lay back on a futon and did a double hot towel prep and then did three passes. He had some pretty bad neck acne (which I told him sr shaving would help) I did manage to decapitate three bumps but they didn't bleed much and with a little bit of mopping up it worked pretty well. I didn't even have to shave the hard bits because he has a thin jawline beard and moustache.

a little bit of Gunsandbibles homemade aftershave and a little bit of nivea aftershave lotion and he looked like a new man.

I'd like to become comfortable enough with my technique one day to offer a shave to my friends, I know a few could benefit from a good shave. That will be some time though. Props on having a good experience!

it's one part apple cider vinegar, one part water with about two teaspoons of olive oil mixed in. I have to shake it because the olive oil will settle otherwise.

It's got a medium burn to it but it is very short-lived and does a pretty good job as an aftershave. The only thing is it doesn't give that cool feeling that aqua velva or something like that would. It's also scentless in about five minutes which I like because it doesn't mess with any other scent I might try

Wow! That's different than much of what I've seen so far, thanks for expounding (and allowing me to derail your thread).
