I liked the comparison to wives.
Do you think a set of 7 wives, one for each day (just a small tattoo on their shoulders as a reminder) can improve results?

Bite your tongue, sir! Just the thought of seven wives makes me shudder in terror!

I realize it looks intimidating at first, but remember what they say in the Beginners forum about taming your razors :-)

I'd like to know what exactly that stimulant would be.

How does a 7 day set make a razor used every 8 days?

Maybe after the 7 first days they take a day off. Then they use the Sunday's razor on Monday, the Monday's razor on Tuesday etc. :-)

It says every "eighth day" which is slightly different than every eight days. Sunday being the first day, Saturday being the 7th, and the following Sunday being the eighth. At least, that's how I'm trying to make sense of it

You are probably right and I can see your point but you can't count the first Sunday as a day. Monday morning would be the first day of rest.
