Default Nape Shaving with a Straight Razor

Well gents, I have always used a DE razor to shave my nape. Today for the first time, I used a straight razor, my nimble stainless jowika 5/8. It was much easier than I thought, and much cleaner. No clogging razor and nice straight lines. I used a small hand held mirror and switched the razor with both hands. It was a little tricky getting to the lower middle part of the nape, but I managed.

I am quite happy now! My barber on the other hand will have less work to do.

Your a brave man. For as long as I've been using SR's I don't think I'd feel confortable to shave my nape with one. I use a DE.

A nape, is that like a snipe? They're harder to catch than a politician telling the truth!!

Alright, I'll get serious. If I tried to shave the nape, my barber wouldn't have anything to do until the stitches came out from the Dr's work. You have my admiration for not only trying, but for doing it!!

I use a 'body and nape' razor. A straight with a comb shield. Works well.

    What's a nape?

I touch the nape of my neck up about once a week, I place my index finger of my free hand under the blade to guide it into position.
I have found it very easy to do once you figure it out.
    It is just Whisker Whacking
    Relax and Enjoy!

I do this once in a while with my straight. I don't use a mirror though. I got so used to doing it by feel. Just bend my chin to my chest and use a light steady hand.
Shaving with facial hair is like a golfcourse. It's a challenge of rough and fairways. You are the skilled greenskeeper of your face?
