    Default progress report part 2

Today was a real turn around in my straight razor shaving experience. After posting the thread 'my progress report', i can't thank the guys that replied enough. I took note of all the advice, and i sit here now smooth faced and not a hint of redness!!

I spent about 1/2 an hour honing, taking my time on the Norton 4k/8k.

I wanted to get rid of a slight dull patch near the nose of the blade, and i managed to get it out. It pops hairs all the way along the blade now, and the shave was great!!

I took the advice of just going for one pass, and trust me it was very close. I relathered an area on my cheek for a second pass and still no redness. I also skipped the alum and went straight to the trumpers skin food, followed up with the nivea extra soothing balm, which i like alot, it's very cooling and fresh.

I was tempted to go for a second pass all over, but i think i'm gonna just take my time and let my skin adjust. I also intend to shave every other day, to help this process.

I don't think i mentioned i am using a new Dovo, with ebony handle. It seems like a nice razor, and it's the only one i have shaved with so far, but i am currently restoring a Dubl Duck no1 special, so i am looking forward to the comparison!!

So a big thankyou to all who gave advice, this really is the place to be for fast response to any queries you have, and it is TOP advice!!!
