Irritation hour after the shave
About an hour after I shave with a straight I notice terrible Irritation on my neck,, my neck shave is usually wtg first pass atg second pass.. Lather seems fine and I use a pre shave.. I'm wondering if I should touch the razor up with my 12 k or is it the angle pressure etc.. The razor doesn't seem to pull or hurt at all while shaving and seems to give a great shave on my face.....?..

Thanked: 13249I have what I call the 1 hour test... If the edge is not honed really smooth I will know it 1 hour after the shave regardless of how good I think the shave was..
For newer shavers it can be the edge but also pressure could be the culprit, try backing way off on the pressure and see if that helps, if not then I would suspect the edge

Thanked: 177The neck makes the angle harder to keep consistent. Try to be conscious of the variation of the angle. Scraping( shaving with a high angle) always spelled irritation for me. If the angle is good then as gssixgun said, the edge may need a touch up.

Thanked: 1195If I've had a shoddy shave, whether due to a dulling edge or heavy hand, I'll know the second I apply alum or aftershave. But even then it will feel better after an hour.
Pixel might be on to something. Allergies are a possibility.

That's how they do allergy tests. They scratch your skin with something on it to see if it causes a reaction.
