    Default Need help soon!

I have found myself in a bit or a predicament. I am out of town on business and seem to have forgotten my shaving brush! That leaves me with a razor, preshave oil a strop and a tub of Tabac soap...are there any Mcgyvers out there that have a suggestion on how to lather up? Im not in a place where I can easily buy even a cheap brush, and I absolutely have to be shaven for the morning! Suggestions appreciated!

It's soap, so you should be able to face lather with your hands. I've done this a few times and though I missed the feeling of my face being pampered by my brush, I still got the quality shave I was looking for.

Makeup brush, paint brush, VDH boar, or as Raven312 said use your hands to lather. Cremo Cream works without lathering.

    Good Luck on your shave.

You can also try to build a lather using a wash cloth. Wet the cloth and leave a little more water on it than damp. Then form a loose ball at one end and rub it on your soap. Touch of water and rub again a couple times and then try to face lather from the loose ball part of the cloth. You can always go back to either the soap or the cloth during the process and for a second pass. This will actually work, but be careful not to put too much pressure on the cloth when building your lather. It will make your face feel a little raw.

    Have fun.

The washcloth tactic worked! I cant say it whipped up a thick, frothy lather, but when functional is key, I couldn't ask for more! Thanks Lynn!
