The latest addition I made for my shave den / 1/2 of the bathroom
My gear was starting to take over the bathroom and my wife had not said anything yet, but I could tell it was starting to press on her. I sat down with pencil and paper and started to work up a design. Vertical was the only option as this was the only direction I had to go with out encroaching on the her side of the bathroom. After 2 days of design I set off to my shop to start the project. I chose Walnut for its color and the accent it would add. I chose oak dowels for the accent to the Walnut.
Here is the result of 29 hours of my life.
Cut out and first sanding of my pieces
I decided to add more than Straights to the rack. This is the bottom right side. I added holders for my DE's as well as 4 brush holders
This is the bottom left side. I chose liquor glasses as this was a safe way to hold them from falling and a way to see my toys at the same time.
Center Left side
Stepping back a little it frames my mirror
Here you can see the mirror doubled my favorite razors
Looking from the side it is not as large as one might think
Well this is what I did this past week after work. My wife is happy that I cleaned my area up and did not pass the line of death to her area.
Please feel free to add suggestions of how I could have designed it better.
As a foot note:
My wife found me a wash stand at an antique store that is my next project to add under my strops on the back wall.A veteran is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check, made payable to the United States of America, "for an amount up to and including my life".

Ingenious, and well done!!
That's quite a collection you have. Scares me though, my wife would make me dust it twice a week.

Ah Sir Stropalot, I am so glad you mentioned dusting, I planed this into the design. Each of the arms that holds the glasses/ Razor. DE, or Brush holder is designed to slide up and down and swivel on the dowel rod, they are a friction fit. For heavy cleaning such as hair spray removal. I can pull the dowel all the way out from the top and clean each Pc. I used spar varnish so a wet cloth can be used.
I am glad you like it.A veteran is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check, made payable to the United States of America, "for an amount up to and including my life".

That is some very creative, fine woodwork, very admirable! I'd be ashamed to show my shaving area.
