    Default Surprise Pig Scuttle

A good friend from another forum knew how obsessed I was with boar brushes and sent this to me as a surprise. I received it today. My new/old pig scuttle. It was made sometime between 1892-1917.

Love it and so appropriate for a boar brush enthusiast.

This little piggie went to market;this little piggie stayed home...

Really very appropriate! I like it!! Now to become a purist, you need to start raising hogs and acquiring the bristles first hand! Now that would be something! Also what about scales made from swine leg bone! I do have a friend who raises hogs. Now what to do!

I will confine my piggy love to my shaving brushes, bacon, sausage, and ham.

I worked on my uncle's pig farm as a teenager and no thanks, I never want to do that again.

Oh man! I was watching that one on the bay lol. I saw someone bid on it and decided to let it go.

I'm glad the pig now has a good home

My ADD just kicked in on seeing that scuttle. Never in love with figurative items but every now and then one grabs me by the shorts and I'm off to the races. I think I better shift what discretionary money I have from acquiring to psychiatric counseling! Good thing I didn't see it, I would have mortgaged my great grandchild's home (if I had a great grandchild) to get it.

This one came from an antique shop in Northern Missouri. Has a certificate of authenticity that says it was made between 1892-1917 in Bavaria.

I feel your pain. Worked for my Dad. I love eating bacon for the simple fact a swine had to die.
Probably started my hearing loss (along with rock/roll) from the roar and squeal of big hogs when I would put the rings in the snout.
If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.
