Thanked: 480"Telling"
This is the "tell" portion of show and tell. After a super find of an Escher in the wild, I make up for it with 2 razors (separate purchases) that upon clean up, show cracks down the middle. This makes me very sad. I know the rule is "no pic, it didnt happen" hence why I post no photo. I dont want to admit it happened to me!
Oh well, cant win them all, but it just goes to show how hard it can be to spot a flaw, even when you have it in hand.
And one of them was a W&B FBU too. I suppose I will just have to do a "workshop" post later for how I turn it into an awesome shaving shorty.

I feel your pain friend. Same thing happened to me with a giant Torrey razor that looked mint and had the tiniest of hairline cracks on both sides. The other was also a W&B FBU, I was so excited when I saw that crusty old price tag on it and missed the split near the heel of the blade until I got home and started honing. Like a swift kick in the ol' babymaker I tell you.
They look good in a display case though.........win some, lose some!

Thanked: 1184It's kind of like cutting yourself during a shave. Your just going along and it happens. That's why they call it paying attention. When you don't ,,, you pay. Don't beat yourself up over it. Just carry them in your pocket every time you shop :<0)
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

I bought this nice 5/8 one time. It just had one little spot on each side of the blade. I should have noticed the spots were directly opposite of each other... and there was a tiny hole completely through the blade.
One time, in band camp, I shaved with a Gold Dollar razor.
