Default A new addition to the growing collection!

Well its new to me anyway!!

So I picked up a W&B FBU from a member here recently, a full 8/8 (17/16 at the widest) It had been restored, still a little visible pitting, but in very good shape!

I took a picture of it next to a 7/8 that I restored for comparison. I know you pros have seen many of these, but it is my largest to date. Now I am hunting for a FBU near wedge hopefully 8/8...

    Nice one Pierre!

    But... how does it shave?

I have one very similar to that and it has not been out of my regular rotation since I got it about a year ago. So all kidding aside, I think you'll love it.

Congrats on a really nice razor.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

It just showed up yesterday, so I am planning a test run tomorrow if I'm not to tired after work. 12 Hours in the sun, a shower and a beer may be all I can muster! lol!! Besides, for a break in shave, a 4 day to a weeks growth of heavy whisker may be all this aged blade needs!!

Well just gave it a test run. It does need a little edge work, shave was ok, just a wee bit of tugging. The tall tang helped with control, some jimps would go a long way. I have a goatee, but think under the nose could cause a guy grief, as getting close to the ears was awkward. Shave about 80% of the head, but due to the edge not being quite up to par, I laid it down for the moment, and picked up the 7/8 to finish. Even for a blade this size, it sang to me! A sweet high "ting" at the end of a stroke, and during a stroke, it wasn't quiet. All in all, money well spent. I like it!

My 76 year old father-in-law is staying with us for a bit, and he was quite taken by its size! Made me smile!
