My Latest Frameback
I don't know why but I have this thing for framebacks and shoulderless blades. I tend to shave very well with them, too (so I'm sure that helps!) This diamond in the rough is on its way to me. It's a 134 Fontenille Gold Medal Frameback, 3/4" wide. The seller thinks they're plastic scales but I'm wondering if they're horn. A lot of the specimens I've seen of this razor are horn. I'll find out in a few days. She needs to be cleaned and honed but I think it's going to be a beauty - at least, I hope.

Nice catch for sure. I agree with the horn scales comment. Only other scales I have seen on that type of razor are Ivory...so far.

I'm really looking forward to cleaning 'er and having her honed. If it's anything like my favorite frameback (Joseph Elliot), I'll really enjoy shaving with it.

I have to admit that yes - i really like em. And the single one that I have needs a mate lol. I want a Japanese one next .
But its odd - by rights, they should take less craftsmanship to make shouldn't they?David

Funny - I looked at a couple of Japanese (gorgeous) but they were out of my price range - for now.
