OK, after some time I finally decided to sharpen this baby. Since, I've added a usb microscope to my arsenal. Looking at the edge of this blade under 200 x magnification I could see it was flat consistently from heel to toe and had zero home marks. This truly looks to me like it was never sharpened and therefore never used. Truly a find !
